Video
When a conference featuring Ezra Levant and Jordan Peterson was disrupted by protestors, I filmed live video of the protest and provided live on-camera commentary.
I also helped moderate a debate between candidates for University of Toronto Students’ Union president.
During U of T’s orientation week, I helped produce a video recapping the frosh parade.

Data journalism
During my time at The Varsity, I did data analysis for several pieces looking into the amount of parking tickets issued on campus. The City of Toronto and the City of Mississauga have datasets listing every single parking ticket issued within the last few years. Using Python and Google Maps, I isolated and mapped out the parking tickets issued on the three U of T campuses. Below are the links to the articles that followed.
- Mapping Campus Data: Parking Enforcement — The Varsity, September 2017
- Over 8,000 parking tickets issued at UTM in 2016 — The Varsity, January 2017
- More than 30,000 parking tickets worth over $1.4 million issued at UTSG, UTSC — The Varsity, July 2016
Similarly, I compiled a map listing by-law infractions at U of T’s fraternities and sororities in September 2017, also using publicly available data from the City of Toronto.
Podcast guest
I was on the Big Story Podcast, a current affairs podcast produced by Rogers Media, talking the trade war between Trump and Trudeau as well as my Maclean’s article featuring Canadian alternatives to American products.
In addition, I also appeared on Room 1068, a student-run podcast at the U of T produced by the Arts and Science Student’s Union. You can hear me talk about my experience with The Varsity, breaking the Jordan Peterson story, and opining on pop music.
Also, this isn’t a podcast appearance, but I was also a panellist at the 2017 Emerge Media Rehab conference, which was held at the University of Guelph-Humber. I spoke about The Varsity’s coverage of Jordan Peterson along with four of my colleagues.
